Dr. Malcolm and Mary Bray Scholarship
As a community partner, Riverview Health Foundation is pleased to provide grant and scholarship opportunities for local high school students through the Riverview Health Foundation Dr. and Mrs. Malcolm Bray Medical Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior from each of the public high schools in Hamilton County wishing to pursue a career in the medical field. Each recipient is awarded a one-time $1,000 scholarship. The Dr. and Mrs. Malcolm Bray Medical Scholarship was established in 1993 through the Riverview Health Foundation and has awarded over 180 scholarships to students since its inception. Dr. and Mrs. Bray’s philosophy was to always share the blessings they had received in life by giving back to the community. Dr. Bray had a saying: “Learn, Earn, and Return."
Hamilton County Medical Society Scholarship
In addition to the Dr. and Mrs. Malcolm Bray Scholarship, Riverview Health Foundation is pleased to offer an additional $500 scholarship awarded to the same student selected to receive the Bray Scholarship. This scholarship is made possible through a gift from the Hamilton County Medical Society.
The Hamilton County Medical Society was formed in the 1980s by physicians practicing within Hamilton County as a professional development and social group to occasionally meet and share experiences and best practices. As the years went by, the group slowly moved toward working with the Indiana State Medical Society, and the need for a local chapter declined. As a result, the remaining funds from the Hamilton County Medical Society have been given to Riverview Health Foundation to distribute as a scholarship award to students throughout Hamilton County who are interested in pursuing a degree in the medical field.
