Your Wellness

This quarterly newsletter brings you timely tips and valuable insights. Stay informed and empowered on your journey to better health, every season.

Summer is the perfect time to embrace the outdoors and prioritize your well-being.

Here are some simple ways to stay health while enjoying the season:

  • Hydration is key, keep your body cool and energized by drinking plenty of water.
  • Protect your skin, apply sunscreen regularly, wear a hat and seek shade to prevent sunburn and skin damage.
  • Beat the heat, avoid outdoor activities during peak sun hours and take cooling breaks indoors when needed.
  • Enjoy fresh summer foods, stay nourished with hydrating fruits and veggies like watermelon, cucumbers and berries.
  • Exercise smartly, move your workouts to the early morning or evening to avoid overheating in the midday sun.
  • Bug bite prevention, use insect repellent and wear light-colored clothing to keep mosquitoes and ticks at bay.

Embrace the Summer: Your Guide to a Healthy Season

Summer is here, bringing sunshine, warm breezes and endless opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors! With longer days and rising temperatures, we encourage our patients to embrace the season, whether it's swimming, hiking, gardening or simply unwinding in the fresh air.

In this issue of our newsletter, we'll share essential summer wellness tips, practice updates and ways to stay healthy while making the most of this vibrant season. Prioritizing movement, hydration and self-care during the warmer months can do wonders for both body and mind, and we're here to support you every step of the way.

Do one thing: small changes make a big impact.

The summer season can be a motivating time to make changes. Try these 3 small but impactful daily changes to jump start your best health year yet!

Reduce & Add Daily

Start by making tiny changes that add up. Reduce 100 calories daily by swapping something out and add something beneficial like an extra serving of fruits, more water or protein.

Move a Little More

Incorporate short bursts of physical activity into your day. Even just 5-10 minutes of movement can make a difference, leading to improved focus, better mood and increased energy.

Prioritize Sleep

Aim for more rest. If you're getting less than 7 hours, try adding just 15 minutes to your nightly sleep. Consistent, quality sleep is key for overall well-being.

Prioritizing Mental Wellness

Taking care of your behavioral health is just as important as maintaining physical wellness. Your emotional and mental well-being influence your daily life, relationships and overall health. Prioritizing mental wellness is a journey, not a destination. By building health habits, seeking support when needed and making self-care a priority, you can cultivate a balanced, resilient mind. Riverview Health Behavioral Care is here to help every step of the way.
