Remote Access
Riverview Health employees, physicians, and contractors may access most internal resources from external locations and devices. Permission to access resources remotely must be pre-arranged by your manager and the Information Systems department.
Requirements for Remote Access
To remotely access Riverview Health resources, users must meet the following requirements:
- Have a @riverview.org account (username and password)
- Be enrolled in the Riverview Health Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) solution
- Have a reliable internet connection (10 Mbps or greater)
- Have a modern browser, computer, or mobile device
VMware Horizon virtual desktops
VMware Horizon provides authorized Riverview Health users remote access to a virtual desktop in our environment. Most of the internal applications, clinical systems, an other resources will be available within this solution. There are two ways to remotely access a VMware Horizon virtual desktop at desktops.riverview.org:
Access a virtual desktop via a modern browser (click to open)
- Open a modern web browser (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge)
- Visit https://desktops.riverview.org/
- Select VMware Horizon HTML Access
- Enter your Riverview Health username and password
- Approve Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) when prompted
- Wait 60 seconds or less to be automatically logged onto a virtual desktop
Access a virtual desktop via an installed application (click to open)
- Download and install a VMware Horizon Client that is compatible with your device
- Launch the VMware Horizon Client application
- Select New Server
- Enter https://desktops.riverview.org/ as the name of the Connection Server
- Enter your Riverview Health username and password
- Approve Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) when prompted
- Wait 60 seconds or less to be automatically logged onto a virtual desktop
Microsoft Office 365
Microsoft Office 365 provides authorized Riverview Health users remote access to Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, OneDrive, SharePoint, and many other solutions without first having to logon to a VMware Horizon virtual desktop. There are two ways to remotely access Microsoft Office 365 resources at https://s.riverview.org/office:

- Visit https://s.riverview.org/office
- Enter your @riverview.org Riverview Health username
- Enter your Riverview Health password
- Approve Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) when prompted
Access Microsoft Office 365 via mobile applications (click to open)
- You must first install the Microsoft Intune Company Portal before securely accessing company resources on your personal device
- Download and install the Microsoft Intune Company Portal for your mobile device (up to 5 devices)
- Apple iOS: Enroll your iOS device by following these instructions or this 3-minute video
- Google Android: Enroll your Android device by following these instructions or this 3-minute video
- Download and install additional Microsoft Office 365 applications for your mobile device such as Outlook (email, calendar, directory), Teams (secure text messaging, voice and video conferencing), OneDrive (personal documents), SharePoint (shared documents), and much more.
