At Riverview Health, our expert physicians are skilled at providing the most accurate cancer diagnostic services using the latest, most advanced technologies. Because we know an accurate diagnosis is the first step in determining an appropriate treatment plan, our oncologists, surgeons, radiologists and pathologists work together to ensure effective, compassionate care right from the start.

To ensure the accuracy of each diagnosis, our specialists use the most advanced equipment and procedures, including:

PET/CT Scan

Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and Computerized Tomography (CT) bring images together with pinpoint accuracy to determine the exact location and extent of your cancer. As one of the world’s most advanced cancer diagnostic tools, it allows our doctors to quickly identify cancer, as well as whether it’s spreading or if treatment is working.

Biopsy

In many cases, a biopsy is the most definitive way to make a cancer diagnosis. This procedure allows tissue samples to be taken and analyzed for the most accurate diagnosis. These results can assist doctors in determining the most effective course of action.

Mammography/Breast Ultrasound/Breast Biopsy

The Riverview Health Women’s Center offers a full range of cancer diagnostic services specific to women. Our cutting-edge Women’s Center is accredited as a Breast Center of Excellence—one of only three such centers in central Indiana.

Riverview Health Cancer Center is conveniently located across the hall from the radiology department for greater accessibility during diagnosis and follow-up screenings. Our center brings together a team of cancer experts who will oversee your entire treatment plan, from the common to the complex, with each member committed to ensuring the best outcomes possible.
