|Riverview Hospital to Participate in Cancer Study|
April 22nd 2013 - Riverview Hospital is honored to help the American Cancer Society with a CPS-3 (Cancer Prevention Study-3) collection site at the upcoming Relay For Life event at Forest Park on May 11-12. The American Cancer Society is inviting men and women between the ages of 30-65, who have no personal history of cancer, to join this historic research study. |
By enrolling in CPS-3, you will help further the understanding of cancer prevention, which can help save lives and give people more of the most precious resource, time. CPS-3 is a long-term follow-up study of lifestyle and/or genetic risk factors for cancer in adult men and women. The American Cancer Society is studying how cancer is linked to our diet and exercise routines.
To sign up for the study and aid in this important research effort, come to the CPS-3 tent from 1-5 pm on May 11. All you need to do is fill out a short survey, get your waist measured and give blood (about seven teaspoons extracted by a phlebotomist). A more comprehensive survey will be mailed to you in a few weeks. There is no cost to participate in the CPS-3 study.
If you have any questions about the CPS-3 study, please feel free to email Mike Morris at firstname.lastname@example.org
