|Riverview Hospital Unveils Enhanced Emergency Department and Outpatient Registration Area|
March 6th 2013 - |
Riverview Hospital is making visits to its facility easier and more convenient for people by unveiling an enhanced registration area for those requiring emergency or outpatient services. The renovation, which included moving the patient entrance to the Emergency Center, is part of a long-term plan to streamline how services are delivered at the hospital.
“We relocated the patient entrance and several key services so people would have easier access to them,” said Scott Tripp, operations director of Support Services at Riverview Hospital. “Registration is now quick and easy, and it’s located right inside the Emergency and Outpatient entrance near where many patients go for their appointments.”
In addition to being more convenient for patients, the new registration area allows for increased safety and privacy.
“Patients and their families can now have a private conversation with our staff in an enclosed registration space,” said Tripp. “This can be extremely comforting to people who may be experiencing a crisis situation or need help in understanding their healthcare coverage.”
Riverview plans to continue streamlining its services, with additional improvements expected later this year. These upgrades include the relocation of its Wound Care and Short Stay departments to the Outpatient Center. Wound Care will be expanded to include hyperbaric treatment, and Short Stay provides key IV therapies, such as antibiotics, blood transfusions and chemotherapy.
