Relief is Closer than you Think
December 14th 2010 - Are you seeking relief from pain? As you may know, you are not alone. Take John Gano for instance. Severe pain in his spine was keeping him from working and enjoying life.

“I cannot visualize sitting at home, that is why the health of my back is so important,” said John, who has degenerative spine disease and arthritis and lower back pain.

John turned to the Riverview Interventional Pain Center to help keep him functional – including one activity that keeps him going, working his part-time job at a local supermarket.

The Riverview Interventional Pain Center specializes in treating persistent and chronic pain like John’s with the goal of pain relief through diagnostic and therapeutic injections. The Riverview Interventional Pain Center provides consultation, pain education, and state-of-the-art interventional pain procedures.

“There is a tendency to think that just because someone is getting along in age that they are still not functional people,” said Dr. John Ward, board certified interventional pain specialist and director of the Riverview Pain Center. “They still have the same goals and aspirations as much younger people have. The ideal outcome for them is a better quality of life, less pain and more function.”

“With each treatment that I have with Dr. Ward there has been some progress,” said Mr. Gano.

“Some patients report relief of pain before they leave the visit,” explains Dr. Ward. “I just love to hear that, it’s very satisfying for me to be able to do something to help him. That makes his life better.”
