In July 2012, a community health needs assessment was conducted on behalf of Riverview Hospital and the Hamilton County Health Department by Professional Research Consultants, Inc.

The assessment is a systematic, data-driven approach to determining the health status, behaviors, and needs of residents in Hamilton County. This assessment is required by the IRS.

The top five health priorities identified include access to healthcare, mental health resources, substance abuse resources, health education, and collaboration among healthcare institutions.
