Welcome New Head Athletic Trainer for Noblesville High School
Riverview Hospital is pleased to announce Peter Dewar, MA, ATC, has recently joined Riverview Rehab & Fitness as Head Athletic Trainer for Noblesville High School. The position is part of a sports medicine partnership that Riverview has with Noblesville Schools.
"Peter brings extensive knowledge and experience in this role,” said Chad Robertson, coordinator of the Noblesville Rehab & Fitness Center. "We are excited to have him as part of the Riverview Rehab & Fitness team, and to continue our strong partnership with Noblesville Schools.”
Dewar earned his master’s degree in Teaching and Teacher Education at University of Arizona. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in Health and Kinesiology. Dewar has more than five years of experience as an athletic trainer, which includes positions held internationally. He is currently an active member of the World Federation of Athletic Training and Therapists communications committee and a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association.
As head athletic trainer, Dewar’s responsibilities include the prevention, assessment and treatment of emergency, acute and chronic athletic injuries, as well as the reconditioning of athletes after injury.
In addition, Peter has previous experience with the ImPACT Concussion Testing program, which is offered at Riverview Rehab & Fitness. The ImPACT Concussion program is the most scientifically validated computerized concussion evaluation system used for student-athletes and aids physicians in determining when it is safe for athletes to return to competition.
