Overview
At Riverview Rheumatology, we treat adult patients with all types of arthritis, autoimmune diseases, musculoskeletal pain disorders and osteoporosis. We are dedicated to diagnosing and treating these conditions, helping all patients to live a better and more productive life.
An estimated 43 million people in the United States have arthritis or other rheumatic conditions, and that number continues to climb. Many rheumatic conditions can be difficult to diagnose, requiring a visit with a rheumatologist – an internist trained to treat rheumatic conditions.
Rheumatic diseases are characterized by inflammation (redness, heat, swelling, and pain). If pain in the joints, muscles or bones is severe or persists for more than a few days you should first see your family physician who many then refer you to a Rheumatologist. The importance of early diagnosis in arthritic conditions, particularly rheumatoid arthritis has been proven, but often symptoms are difficult for non-rheumatologists to diagnose.
If your symptoms require a visit to a Rheumatologist, ask your physician about a referral to Riverview Rheumatology.
