IMRT
Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT) is a state-of-the-art technology that enables doctors and technicians to escalate the dose of cancer-killing radiation to tumors while minimizing complications in surrounding healthy tissue. IMRT is the most sophisticted radiation treatment in the world for many cancers.
IMRT gives patients at Riverview's Cancer Center access to much-improved chances for a cure. It is used to treat patients with prostate, breast, head and neck, lung, pancreatic and other cancers, where precisely placed beams can be focused to carefully target tumor cells without harming surrounding healthy tissue.

Riverview's Cancer Center is proud to offer one of the world's most advanced tools int he fight against cancer: PET/CT imaging.
PET/CT assists physicians in quickly determining whether you have cancer, if it has spread, whether your treatment plan is working, or if your cancer has returned.
PET/CT brings both PET (position emission tomography) and CT (computerized tomography) images together with just one machine to pinpoint the exact location and extent of your cancer, allowing ourphysician team to develop the most effective treatment plan possible - and giving you the best chance of beating cancer.
