Foundation History
Created in 1976, the Riverview Hospital Foundation provides philanthropic opportunities for raising awareness and funding to support Riverview Hospital in preserving and restoring the health of our community.
Charitable giving has long been an integral part of
healthcare's success. Riverview's roots go back to 1909, when Dr. Samuel
Harrell founded Riverview and a private citizen donated the land upon
which we stand today. Those gifts have never ceased in the intervening
years. Today, charitable gifts continue to help pave the way by
assisting Riverview in continuing its leadership role as a healthcare
provider.
98% of donations since the Foundation's inception have
gone to purchase technology, enhance capabilities and expand the
services of hospital departments such as: cardiology and cardiac
rehabilitation, pediatrics, oncology, the Women's Pavilion, Community
Health Clinic, Emergency Center expansion, and surgery.
The Riverview Hospital Foundation is truly grateful to all of its supporters!
