Riverview Hospital employees and some vendors may access Windows 7 desktops remotely from external resources using their home computer or tablet (smartphone access it not available.

About Riverview Desktops
Employees with permission may access a Windows 7 desktop remotely by using our VMware View environment via https://desktops.riverview.org/.
How to access Riverview Desktops from a computer
Using a computer that is connected to the internet, open Internet Explorer and navigate to https://desktops.riverview.org/. Select the first View Client option (not Local Mode) and then Download.

If a yellow information bar appears, click on it and select Download File.

Click Run to download the file to your computer and begin installation.

Follow the installer steps to install the View Client. If prompted, restart to complete installation.

Enter https://desktops.riverview.org/ as the Default View Connection Server.

If you are installing on a Riverview Hospital-owned laptop, select "Set default option to login as current user." Otherwise click Next.

Once the VMware View Client is installed and you have restarted, you may run the client from the Start Menu and connect to https://desktops.riverview.org/, or open the URL in Internet Explorer.

Enter your Riverview Hospital credentials.

Select a desktop from the Desktop Pools you are entitled to use. Your desktop will be streamed down to your computer.

How to access Riverview Desktops from a mobile device
VMware makes a free version of its VMware View client for Android, iPad, and other tablets (no smartphones). Visit your devices' "app store" to download a version specific to your device.
iOS (iPad) Example
Launch the iOS App Store, search for the VMware View client, and click Install.

After the application is download and installed, tap on the VMware View icon to launch the VMware View mobile application.

In Vmware View, select Add View Connection Server.

Enter desktops.riverview.org as the host name of the View Connection Server and tap Next.

Enter your Riverview Hospital username and password. Tap Done.

Select a desktop from the Desktop Pools you are entitled to use. Your desktop will be streamed down to your iPad.

Make note of available Gestures and the Tools pull-down menu at the top of the screen.

The Tools pull-down menu at the top of the screen provides access to a touchpad, keyboard, and more.

For example, we selected the virtual keyboard to input login credentials into this application.
